Lumines Electronic Symphony Track List Revealed

Q Entertainment has revealed the official track list for their upcoming Playstation Vita puzzler Lumines Electronic Symphony. The developers envisioned a game that would take players through a diverse selection of electronic music and with that goal in mind have crafted a list of tracks that feature the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Air, and Goldfrapp. Read on for the full track list.
The Lumines series debuted back in Japan on December 12, 2004 on the Playstation Portable. Being one of the first hits on the platform, Lumines went on to adopt a cult following of gamers and electronic music fans alike. In 2006, two sequels titled Lumines Live!, and Lumines II were released for Xbox Live and PSP respectively. The gameplay utilizes a block-dropping mechanic to form a puzzle game that is very similar to Tetris and Columns. However, the way in which the blocks split off when hitting obstructions separates Lumines from the previously mentioned puzzle games.
The track list, which was posted on the U.S. Playstation Blog, is as follows:
- “4 AM” – Kaskade
- “Aganju” – Bebel Gilberto
- “Always Loved A Film” – Underworld

At the end of the game, a final track titled “Never” by Orbital will play out the game’s credit sequence.

“Our goal was simple. We wanted to tell a story through sound. With this in mind, our song selection was done to replicate a groovy lounge instead of trying to develop a non-stop 140BPM megamix.” Writes Q Entertainment producer James Mielke. “The soundtrack is designed to rise and fall like waves, giving the player both rhythm and respite, which would feel like a musical journey.”
It is clear that the developers at Q Entertainment are quite passionate about their electronic music. It is quite obvious that a lot of thought was put into the song choices for Lumines Electronic Symphony, with each song being chosen to strike the players emotions at a certain point in the game.
Lumines Electronic Symphony will be released on February 14 in North America, just in time for the release of the First Edition Playstation Vita.
