EVE Online Charging 68 Real Dollars For Space Monocle DLC

In one of the most ludicrous cases of overpriced DLC I have ever heard, popular MMO EVE Online has released some new DLC with an absolutely staggering price point. Let's just say blouses are going for $25, skirts for $20 and space monocles are retailing at a whopping $68 in price. Quite why you would shell out so much money on downloadable content so highly priced (particularly when it's clothing) is quite beyond me, but I'm sure there's someone out there who would buy it.

The massive retail price of the DLC comes after EVE launched a new online store and currency system earlier this week, with the conversion rate of items propelling them into massive amounts such as the ridiculously overpriced monocle for your character to wear. I mean, really, would you even pay $68 for a monocle in real life? I wouldn't, not unless I suddenly turned into an eccentric, middle-aged professor.

The idea behind the DLC is to spruce up your character's portrait, but I really think EVE needs to sort out its currency problems rapidly if it wants anyone to actually bother buying this content, because, let's face it, unless you've got more money than God, there's no way you're going to spend that much on a virtual monocle... right?
