Max Payne's journey into the night continues...

Rockstar's Vancouver studio takes the reins from previous developer, Remedy Entertainment to continue the guns blazing, bullet time filled third-person shooter action adventure, Max Payne 3. Set eight years after the events of previous game, painkiller addicted, nothing-to-lose hero Max Payne has left the NYPD and instead finds his way into the private security business down in sunny São Paulo, Brazil, protecting a wealthy local family.
Expect a slew of new gameplay mechanics and refined ones such as the quintessential bullet time which has been prevalent throughout the entire series, but now with the added ability to duel wield two different weapons at the same time. Destructible terrain, an unknown multiplayer component and a newly implemented cover system which has pretty much become a staple feature for most third-person games in the last 6 years, will also feature in this next instalment.

Not much else has been seen in terms of plot or in-game footage, but we do know that James McCaffrey, the man behind the voice of Max Payne will be reprising his role in voice while also donning the motion capture suit to bring more life out of the already cynical character. Rockstar will also be redesigning Payne's appearance to match that of McCaffrey... neat.
Hopefully we will get to see a trailer or perhaps more at E3 2011. I'm fairly excited to be stepping back into the shoes of this tragic hero. The Max Payne series has always had great writing and memorable characters so Max Payne 3 is definitely on my list of "must play games" whether it comes out this year or the next.
Max Payne 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 & PC
