Ever find yourself wondering the real reason video games never went out of style? You’re in luck because your answer lays in the new collaboration Gamers at Work: Stories Behind the Games People Play which was released globally mere hours ago.

After countless years of hard dedicated work in the video game industry, Morgan Ramsay [founder of Entertainment Media Council] has gathered the entrepreneurial history of this once 16-bit empire and condensed it into one book that will serve readers for years. There has been a decent amount of hype surrounding this entry for the gaming community, and with good reason. When this many gaming icons speak on something, it is not to be ignored by the gaming community. Hopefully, It will be a staple in geek caves around the world.

This book highlights the elaborate history of the video game industry with more than fifteen interviews from some of the most successful developers and publishers in the business. EA, Atari, NaughtyDog, and Bethesda Softworks to name a few of the iconic companies that agreed to participate in this collab (even the founder of Chuck E Cheese). With only a couple novels dedicated to the history of the gaming industry, this piece will be a must have by the end of the year. I’m sure colleges featuring video game education will require that students take a gander at how everything came to be.

Mr. Ramsay has created a masterpiece, compiling knowledge straight from the fore fathers themselves and making it available to all. I’m impressed with the amount of detail that they managed to squeeze into this book; they have redefined our history in a way that suits all. You don’t have to be a die-hard gamer to become interested in how this industry has grown to the dizzying heights it now holds. These men and others that helped build the gaming world will never be forgotten as the year’s progress. I’m sure none of them ever thought that video games would barrel roll through the limits that held them back years ago.
