The website Gameranx has recently published an article which details the list of games that Ubisoft is releasing in 2012. The article contains several titles which haven’t yet been announced or confirmed for this year.

Read on for more details.

The article itself has no source and doesn't state where the information is from, however, they clearly stated that Ubisoft “announced their 2012 lineup” rather than it being leaked.

The most obvious title on the list is Assassin’s Creed 3, while it technically hasn't been confirmed yet, the fact that the series has becomes an annual franchise for Ubisoft lead most to believe that it was coming in 2012. The have also confirmed that the game is being developed for WiiU, becoming the first Assassin’s Creed game on a Nintendo home console. Beyond telling us the games and the consoles their releasing on, no other information is given.  I guess we’ll just have to wait to see the new antagonist and time period

The biggest surprise on the list is the new Splinter Cell game. As the sixth game in the main series, Splinter Cell: Retribution has had little information released beyond a single leaked screenshot. It seems unlikely that the game would come out this year considering the development time of the previous game and lack of new information, but it could happen. It’s also worthy to note that the article listed that the game will see a Playstation 3 release, which the previous instalment did not.

The other curious game is Prince of Persia, no subtitle is given, but it’s due out for the Wii and 3DS rather than next generation consoles. Perhaps the lackluster reception of The Forgotten Sands deterred them from creating another game on those platforms.

Here the full list of games

  • Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 (PS3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows)
  • Far Cry 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows)
  • I Am Alive (PS3, Xbox 360)
  • Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (Xbox 360, PS3, Microsoft Windows)
  • Ghost Recon Online (Microsoft Windows, Wii U)
  • Splinter Cell: Retribution (PS3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows)
  • Prince of Persia (Wii, 3DS)
  • Assassin's Creed 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Microsoft Windows)
  • Just Dance: Final Party (Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation Move)

Just Dance also has the subtitle of the ‘Final Party’ showing that Ubisoft might be trying to end the dance game craze and jump ship before it starts to sink like the instrument rhythm sub-gene.

It seems that once again there is no word or whisper about Beyond Good & Evil 2, a teaser trailer was released a few years ago, but has had no information released since. Last year, Ubisoft's senior VP of sales and marketing Tony Key, announced that the success of Rayman Origins could determine the future of Beyond Good & Evil. However, the game failed to sell well despite the universal praise, possibly resulting in the cancellation of the much wanted sequel.

If the list turns out to be accurate, we are sure to see more of these games in the coming months and at E3. Hopefully we’ll see something new regarding the Brother’s In Arms game which has released no new information about the title after the ‘Inglorious Bastards-style' trailer divided the series fans on the game’s new direction.
