Here is a snippet from the press release regarding the multiplayer update.
"Fans asked for it, and the folks at Milkstone Studios listened! Little Racers STREET, probably the best (and for sure the cheapest!) top down racing game available for the Xbox 360, has received a multiplayer update. Now you can pit your skills against up to 11 real opponents, and earn credits that will help you advance in the single player career, purchasing and upgrading new cars, and customizing them to your liking."
"The multiplayer mode focuses on a fluid gameplay for everyone, much like Call of Duty: the game keeps going on no matter what happens while playing."
"With over 200 events available, and 50+ customizable cars, the game offers hours of racing in different situations and weather conditions, making every race unique."
The game was released in January as a follow=up to their 2009 title, Little Racers. Both games are available on the Indie Game section of Xbox Live for the insanely low price of 80 Microsoft Points or one whole dollar. For fans of the sub-genre, this game offers an incredibly robust update on games like Super Off Road or Super Sprint.
The game has received nothing but praise from those who have played it, they state that the game delivers on its promise with addictive fun that lasts for hours. Now with 12 person online multiplayer, it can be experienced for as long as the game stays popular. Unfortunately, that is the upsetting reality of indie games, especially on Xbox. The platform allows for some very fun and creative games by small teams or even a single person who otherwise wouldn't have ever since an XBLA release, yet it seem more like a massive waste potential. The games in the indie section are largely ignored and with every update to the dashboard, they are buried and hidden under more and more layers within the dashboard.
In December of last year, there was outcry against Microsoft after another update caused the indie section to become even harder to find, also the fact that new features weren't compatible with the games. Beacons don't work with them, cloud storage for save data isn't supported, and the new releases section excludes any released under the indie brand. An indie game was even released in protest, Microsoft has since increased the size allowed for games costing 80 points, allowing some games like Cthulhu Saves the World to drop in price, but its definitely an aspect of the marketplace that should be sorted out.For those who are curious, they can at least download the trial directly to your Xbox from this link: http://marketplace.xbox.com/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550a68
