Game consoles will be invaded by an all new X-men game later this year. Unlike other X-men titles this game will let you choose to play as one of three all new mutants that were created just for this game. They are promising that the story will be branching, and that your choices will help to shape your character’s destiny. Fan favorite characters are sure to make appearances, but as to what role and who is yet to be fully known. There have been leaked photos of Gambit and Colossus, but how they play into the story is unknown as of yet.
The base plot is set in San Francisco, which is now divided into human and mutant sections. The game is set to begin at a peace rally for the now deceased Professor X, and this is where you are to choose which of the three playable characters you want to be. The game is said to allow the player to choose who will be an ally or an enemy through the choices they make. Since this is all that is known on the plot at the moment it does lead me to believe that if Silicon Knights pulls this off it could be an incredibly fun X-men game.
As we wait for more information we at least have this teaser trailer that hints at characters if you know your X-men you may recognize a few, but I will refrain from guessing as I don’t want to be wrong.
