Hello guys, Joshua Mobley, your resident PlayStation super fan, here to tell you about everything that went down this week in the world of PlayStation. This week was packed full of downloadable games, more Uncharted news, another PSN break in, and a possible Jak and Daxter HD collection announcement. So come on in and enter the world of PlayStation.

Uncharted 3 Goes Gold, Adds Maps, Contains StarHawk Beta Invite

uc3play

If you weren’t already excited for Uncharted 3 you’d better hold on to your seat. We are only a few weeks away from the initial release and you know what that means: the game has gone gold. For those of you that don’t know what that term means, it means that the game is 100% complete and ready for store shelves. Naughty Dog has also patched the Subway Multiplayer Experience with some nifty bug fixes and two new maps.

If you are buying Uncharted 3 new, then good news: you’ll get exclusive access to the StarHawk beta when it goes live in 2012. StarHawk is the space-oriented sequel to WarHawk and will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, set to be released some time in 2012.

Jak & Daxter HD Collection accidentally announced

jak

Now I never had the chance to play the Jak and Daxter games when I was a kid, but I always wanted to. If you’re like me then your chance is coming, because Naughty Dog accidentally announced the Jak and Daxter HD Collection at an Uncharted 3 event this week. No word on when the collection will be released, but seeing as Naughty Dog has finished Uncharted 3 we could expect the collection to come out some time in early 2012.

90,000 PSN and SOE Accounts Compromised

Now before you do anything drastic or become severely depressed, you don’t need to worry too much; no credit card information was compromised in the recent account break-ins. Sony knows who’s been affected and has deactivated the accounts; to reactivate it you must change your passwords. PSN users need not be worried about further attacks.

It’s nice to see Sony respond with such haste and that we were given timely information - looks like they really did learn their lesson.

Vita 3G Only Allows 20MB Downloads

vita

The 3G version of the Vita Is looking less and less attractive lately. Apparently the 3G version will only let you download up to 20MB of data using a 3G connection. I guess we won’t be downloading games on the subway anymore, now will we? We still don’t even know if we are going to be able to play games online through 3G connections, but hopefully we can or else what’s the point of spending the extra money? I’m starting to think I should just buy a WiFi version and save mt cash for games.

infamous 2 Mission Creation Contest

PSN Store Update

This week was crazy awesome for the PlayStation Store: we got a bunch of new games as well as some great stuff for PlayStation Plus members. The main highlight being Newyork: Sideway, a platformer where you play as graffiti running around on the side of buildings.
