If you’re a regular attendee at Blizzcon, I’ve got some awful news for you (and your guild). Word has it that Blizzard has cancelled the epic convention known as Blizzcon, putting a halt on six successful years of the event. You can put your cosplay costume back in its protective casing and play the waiting game until the next convention in 2013.
Here is the official statement from Blizzard:
“We’re excited to be showcasing Blizzard eSports on a truly global stage this year. We're also heavily focused on getting Diablo III, Mists of Pandaria, and Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible. In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.”
If you’re a fan of the Mass Effect saga, you’ll be excited to hear that the next installment in this popular series has reached the “Gold” stage of development and might be launched later this year.
Despite Shepard’s efforts to destroy the Reapers conquest, BioWare has stated that Mass Effect 3 will be the game to conclude Sam Shepard’s trilogy of intergalactic adventures. Despite rumors of a fourth game floating around the internet, BioWare seems steady on ending this once in a lifetime game.
An interesting rumor is circulating around the Internet: Microsoft may be phasing out its Microsoft Points system. The rumor is based on reports that Microsoft, in recent publishing agreements with mobile developers, is asking developers to plan for changes concerning their downloadable content and in-app purchases. Now if these rumors are really true and Microsoft Points are headed for the dustbin then I say good riddance!
