EA have recently given a statement revealing what games could be on the cards for the next 12 months. According to EA we can expect to see the usual sporting titles, such as FIFA and Madden NFL, as well as the next Medal of Honour, Need for Speed and the highly anticipated Dead Space. Not too many details have been revealed about the former titles but the latter is receiving a lot of attention.
It seems that every week we have another leak or rumour regarding Nintendo's next console, the Wii U. Whether it's based on the power of the system, it's price, name or even new games, there is allot of speculation surrounding the system. Perhaps one of the bigger factors that can determine the console's early success is the launch line-up, we've seen from the past that systems like the 3DS have initially struggled with a weak launch selection. It has been reported (IGN) that the next generation Microsoft console, the XBOX 720, is already in production at the Flextronics plant in Texas, USA. Flextronics are responsible for the testing and building of both the 360 and the original XBox. Apparently, a “testing group” has been put together to test both the new hardware and software of the new console codenamed “Durango”.

With the Christmas rush of games over, the 3DS’ release calendar is beginning to slow down. The highly anticipated Kid Icarus: Uprising saw it’s release and the next few months only sees a few sparse games like Mario Tennis Open and Kingdom Hearts 3D. After hints of a new 2D Mario game by Iwata in January, it may have been revealed as Super Mario 4. Miyamoto also opens up about some possible Wii U games that missed series instalments on the Wii, mostly a new F-Zero. Also, Pandora’s Tower has been released in Europe and Australia.

In a recent interview, long time musical legend Paul McCartney revealed that his music, or new music made by him is appearing in a video game. In it only a short snippet in a much longer interview, yet it was enough to perk the ears of the gaming world. From only reading the text itself, it’s more difficult to tell whether the reveal was a slip up or not, but he seems to say little about the game or who’s even developing it.
After being asked if he himself played games, he politely stated that he doesn’t, but for the reason that he hasn’t enough spare time. Then he was asked “Can you imagine writing songs for a computer game?”
CEO of PlayStation France in a recent interview says that the PS Vita will be receiving a Monster Hunter game, sometime this year. As to whether it is the same as the Monster Hunter 4 which is being released for 3DS is unsure, but it definitely seems to be happening, read on for more.
